So, I am still wondering what I want to be when I grow up. I continue to question what my life’s purpose is. When I was teaching and coaching, I thought that that was “my purpose”. My alcoholism burned that to the ground. The Spirit of the Universe led me to get sober and one life was left behind for another, and then that changed and changed again. So, my life is ever-changing, and should that be a source of frustration?

Listening to this episode I reached out to a few people that have known me for different lengths of time. One, Brian & his wife; I have known Brian since my undergrad days at BVU in the late 80s, and his wife for a long time too. Another, a friend I have known in recovery for about 10 years, and a young man I met at a music festival when he was 15 years old or so, we got reacquainted, about 5 or so years ago. I asked them to give me a list of gifts or talents they saw in me.

Gift of Gab (this translates as being able to talk to anyone): Creativity, Positivity, Optimism, concern for others, communication, perseverance, honesty, Dank Memes, good photography, and whimsical paintings.

Now I need to figure this out, right?

Kudos to you Dennis for your commitment to growing and evolving! Do you recall what you came up with in the NU course? I think your life purpose is something around creating bridges to bring disparate people together using your talents of creativity, communication, perserverance.
