I feel like the last few years of my life has been a constant MOONSHOT. When I started Merchants of Music, it was a shot alright. I had big goals for the company and the musicians I was working with. I felt I was in a good place when we started. Covid killed that. I was scared that I would not be able to create enough cash flow that I would be able to survive and that the bands and artists would not be able to make money. And create a safe space for these artists to grow.
Holding back is something that I do a lot of and have done. It is only recently in my life I have taken the chances that might lead somewhere. I have learned that I will never find out if I hold back.
Currently, I have a few moonshots; I think the BIG one is to finish the stories I am working on and find a way to share them with a wider audience. There are many reasons; some are because of self-validation of completing a goal.
The goal for the short term is to get better at my craft(s). My mid-term goal would be to be able to share art with others. The long-term goal would be to make a little extra cash and live with a smile.
Hey Dennis - I'm so sorry to hear about your Covid experience with Merchants of Music. That sounds really brutal -- I know how much creating spaces and promoting them is important to you.
I really appreciate how you broke down your BIG Moonshot. Those goals make sense, and I of course know how you have broken down the short term goal in baby action steps. You got it going!
